Video Creation Skills: Remotion, Generation and Editing

Start with the material you have. Use code for precise motion graphics, a generation provider for new footage, and an editing workflow for an existing recording. A prompt-writing skill alone does not produce an MP4.

Compare the source, output and setup

The comparison describes the pinned upstream instructions. It does not assign new review scores or imply successful installation. Inspect the pinned instructions and available registry profiles before choosing.

Remotion Agent Skills

Code-driven motion graphics

From a brief to a checked deliverable

  1. Specify the input, audience, duration, aspect ratio and output file.
  2. Choose code animation, generated footage or editing; check the selected workflow's dependencies and service charges.
  3. Make one representative scene and review readability and factual claims before expanding.
  4. Export the actual video, inspect beginning / middle / end frames and watch the full output before publishing.

Examples you can inspect

These original editorial fixtures demonstrate the deliverables and checks to ask for. Their production notes identify how they were made; they are separate from upstream Skill instructions.

A React composition rendered to MP4

Input
Original OpenAgentSkill copy and a frame-driven, silent title-card composition; no stock media or external generation APIs.
Output
A 6-second, 1280 × 720 MP4 at 30 FPS, plus the editable React source.

Local Remotion render. The exported file is decoded and beginning, middle and end frames are inspected. Production versions and checks are recorded with the example.

A small code-animation example, not AI footage or a client compatibility benchmark. Renderer licensing remains a separate consideration.

Check your client's workflow

Codex, Claude Code and Cursor

Use the client's discovered skill name and preserve referenced scripts and files. Remotion explicitly lists these clients in its official guide; each other source has its own setup requirements.

WorkBuddy, Trae and CodeBuddy

Check the current client's custom-skill import, shell or file access and the selected source's documented support. Keep helper files together. Test one small input before treating a community workflow as compatible.

Doubao and chat-only workflows

Specify the actual product and its file or tool capabilities. A conversation can help draft a brief; producing editable files or running a local code skill requires the corresponding supported runtime.

Common questions

Do Remotion skills generate AI footage?

They guide a coding agent working in a Remotion project. React code renders motion graphics and can incorporate supplied footage. New model-generated footage needs a separate service.

Are video skills free to run?

Skill instructions and execution costs are different. Check renderer licensing and the fees for any voice, transcription, image or video provider you choose.

Should I generate or edit a product demo?

Edit an existing recording when it already shows the correct behavior. Use a coded animation for precise product stories or supplied UI assets, and generated footage when the brief needs new visual scenes.
