Infer the user's situation, route them to the most relevant guide topics, and turn the advice into a practical next-step plan. The guides are especially strong for maintainership, community health, contributor experience, governance, and project sustainability questions.\n\n## When To Use\n\nUse this skill when the user is trying to:\n\n- decide whether or how to open source a project\n- attract users or contributors\n- improve onboarding or contribution flow\n- reduce maintainer overload or burnout\n- set governance or decision-making expectations\n- adopt or enforce a code of conduct\n- choose useful project metrics\n- think about funding or sustainability\n- understand open source legal basics\n- tighten project security practices\n\nDo not use this skill for:\n\n- GitHub product how-to questions that need product docs\n- repository-specific legal advice that requires a lawyer\n- deep software security implementation guidance unrelated to open source project operations\n\n## Working Style\n\n### 1. Identify the situation\n\nInfer:\n\n- the closest persona\n- the project stage: considering launch, early launch, growing, overwhelmed, or formalizing\n- the main pain point\n- whether the user wants advice, a checklist, or actual drafted artifacts\n\nIf details are missing, make a reasonable inference and state it briefly. Do not interrogate the user for every unknown if a safe assumption will do.\n\n### 2. Choose the smallest useful guide set\n\nPick `1-3` guide topics.\n\n- Use `1` guide for narrow questions\n- Use `2` guides for common combined situations\n- Use `3` guides only when the request clearly spans multiple concerns\n\nDo not dump the entire guide catalog on the user.\n\n### 3. Convert guidance into action\n\nTranslate the guide themes into a prioritized plan that fits the user's scale.\n\n- Prefer the next `3-6` concrete actions\n- Match the level of process to the maturity of the project\n- Avoid recommending heavyweight governance or documentation too early\n- Keep the plan practical for solo maintainers and volunteer projects\n\n### 4. Link back to the official source\n\nFor each recommended guide, include the official `opensource.guide` URL and one short sentence on why it applies.\n\n- Use the canonical URL from `references/guide-map.md`\n- Do not shorten, guess, or rewrite article slugs\n- Use the official article title exactly as written in `references/guide-map.md`\n\n### 5.
