It should receive translated content, not upstream repository metadata.\n\n## What to translate\n\nTranslate natural-language prose, including:\n\n```text\nREADME explanations\nskill instructions\nskill descriptions\nagent-facing guidance\nmaintainer-facing guidance\ndocs prose\nexamples that are written as prose\n```\n\n## What to preserve exactly\n\nDo not translate or rewrite:\n\n```text\ndirectory names\nskill names\nslash commands\nCLI commands\ncode blocks\ninline code\nfile paths\npackage names\ntool identifiers\nAPI identifiers\nenvironment variable names\nfrontmatter keys\nJSON/YAML/TOML keys\nMarkdown link URLs\nbehavior-critical labels\n```\n\nPreserve Markdown structure, heading levels, list nesting, tables, link targets, relative paths, and code fences.\n\n## Repository-path localization\n\nWhen translating user-facing installation examples, replace the upstream repo path:\n\n```text\nmattpocock/skills\n```\n\nwith the localized repo path:\n\n```text\nvinvcn/mattpocock-skills-zh-CN\n```\n\nOnly make this replacement where the command or prose is telling users how to install or use the localized repo.\n\nDo not remove attribution to the upstream project.\n\n## Frontmatter rules\n\nPreserve frontmatter keys exactly.\n\nFor frontmatter values:\n\n- Keep `name` values unchanged.\n- Keep identifiers, commands, paths, package names, URLs, and tool names unchanged.\n- Translate `description` only when it is natural-language prose.\n- Flag ambiguous values rather than guessing.\n\n## Translation style\n\nUse Simplified Chinese that is:\n\n```text\nnatural\ndeveloper-friendly\nconcise\naccurate\nconsistent with existing repo tone\n```\n\nKeep common engineering terms in English when the English term is standard among developers or when translating it would reduce clarity.\n\n## Workflow for a single file\n\nWhen translating one file:\n\n1. Identify the file path and file type.\n2. Classify the file as translatable prose, mixed content, config/metadata, or non-translatable.\n3. Protect behavior-critical spans before translation.\n4. Translate only natural-language prose.\n5. Restore protected spans exactly.\n6. Check that commands, code blocks, paths, URLs, identifiers, and frontmatter keys are unchanged.\n7. Check that localized install commands use `vinvcn/mattpocock-skills-zh-CN`.\n8. Return the translated file content or a patch, plus any review flags.\n\n## Workflow for a repo refresh\n\nWhen refreshing from upstream:\n\n1. Treat upstream as a content source, not as Git history.\n2. Identify new, changed, and removed content files.\n3. Translate new and changed prose-bearing files.\n4. Copy or preserve non-translatable support files only when they are in scope.\n5. Preserve the localized repo’s README positioning and install path.\n6. Add a concise entry to the README sync log.\n7. Flag ambiguous files, removed files, or risky transformations for maintainer review.\n8. Summarize translated files, copied files, removed files, skipped files, and review flags.\n\n## README sync log\n\nEach upstream refresh should update the top-level `README.md` sync log with one short entry.\n\nThe entry should include:\n\n- the refresh date in `YYYY-MM-DD` format\n- the upstream source revision, usually `mattpocock/skills@<short-sha>`\n- the local sync commit, if it already exists; otherwise use a short pending note and replace it after commit\n- a one-sentence description of the visible content change\n\nKeep this record concise. Do not move the detailed translation workflow into the README; link to this skill instead.\n\nExample:\n\n```text\n- 2026-05-09: Synced upstream `mattpocock/skills@733d312`, local commit `c9fe120`.
