Add `--audit-packet` to `present.py init` only\nwhen a full intake/multi-agent recovery ledger is useful.\n\nAuthor or update:\n\n- `design_brief.json`: audience, style, readability, and QA contract\n- `content_plan.json`: thesis, narrative arc, and slide roles\n- `evidence_plan.json`: claims, sources, and chart candidates\n- `asset_plan.json`: figures, tables, charts, images, and icons\n- `outline.json`: renderable slide source\n- `notes.md`: assumptions and unresolved decisions\n\nThe build also writes deterministic `build/deck_ir.json`, a coordinate-free\nsemantic representation with stable object IDs, evidence links, reading order,\nand editability metadata. Renderer scripts continue to own coordinates.\n\n### Existing PPTX\n\nWhen source exists, edit source. Use\n`scripts/extract_pptx_style.py` plus a fresh workspace for a source-first\nredesign inspired by an existing deck. Read `references/editing.md` before\nediting package internals.\n\n## Model Profiles\n\nProfiles change orchestration, not the final quality definition:\n\n- `fast` / `luna`: one deterministic grammar, no scouts, render-free draft,\n  then one final render.\n- `balanced` / `terra`: two bounded grammar candidates, at most one useful\n  scout, one focused repair loop.\n- `quality-first` / `sol`: three bounded grammar candidates, optional design\n  and data scouts, full rendered review for difficult or high-stakes work.\n- `auto`: quality-first for high-stakes/evidence-heavy work, fast for explicit\n  rough drafts, balanced otherwise.\n\nUse the smallest profile that can pass the artifact gates. Stronger models may\nchoose and mix bounded treatments dynamically; they should not receive the full\ncorpus or arbitrary coordinates. If uncertain, use the deterministic fallback\nrecorded in the brief.\n\n## Design Decisions\n\nChoose one primary grammar from topic, audience, evidence shape, and density.\nThe eight structural grammar families own distinct title, section, evidence,\ncomparison, data, decision, and references systems. Presets contribute palette,\ntype, and treatment vocabulary; they are not static templates.\n\nMaintain these invariants:\n\n- One dominant idea and a clear reading path per slide.\n- Every content slide has a visual or evidence anchor: chart, table, figure,\n  image, KPI, timeline, matrix, or structured comparison.\n- No centered body copy and no sequence dominated by bullet-only slides.\n- Vary composition with the argument; avoid repeating one card grid, border,\n  title treatment, or two-column shell.\n- Use `header_variant: auto` with a stable seed for reproducible heading,\n  top-line, bottom-line, no-line, and compact report treatments.\n- Keep source text and page numbers in the reserved footer region; do not let\n  footer chrome compete with the evidence.\n- Use `role_layout_variant: primary | alternate | dense` for bounded structural\n  variation. Do not place arbitrary coordinates in `outline.json`.\n- Keep one grammar coherent across the deck. Borrow at most two isolated\n  treatments when the content shape benefits.\n\nReadable defaults for ordinary delivery:\n\n- titles at least 28 pt;\n- body text at least 16 pt;\n- captions, sources, and metadata at least 9 pt;\n- no more than two title lines;\n- shorten, split, or convert prose into evidence objects before shrinking.\n\nUse actual content to balance white space. Sparse slides need a stronger anchor;\ndense slides need fewer words or a more suitable structure, not smaller type.\n\nFor structural routing details, read\n`references/composition_grammar_catalog.md`. For screenshot/template\ninspiration, read `references/style_reference_catalog.md`. The descriptor corpus\nis retrieval memory; load only the selected record or distilled atoms.\n\n## Data And Figures\n\nFor local CSV, TSV, XLSX, or JSON evidence, keep generated artifacts\nreproducible:\n\n```bash\npython3 scripts/python_runtime.py scripts/scaffold_figure_artifacts.py \\\n  --workspace /absolute/path/deck-workspace \\\n  --run \\\n  --bind-outline\n```\n\nPreserve source fingerprints, figure scripts, chart/table JSON, artifact\nmanifests, slide bindings, and rebuild commands. Solve whitespace and label\nreadability in the figure script before placing the figure. Stage sourced images\nthrough `asset_plan.json` with attribution. Generated imagery must remain\noptional and carry prompt/model/purpose metadata.\n\nRead `references/reproducible_workflow.md` only when the deck contains computed\nevidence or generated figures.\n\n## QA And Delivery\n\nA deliverable deck must pass:\n\n1. planning and outline preflight;\n2. geometry, overflow, overlap, density, and whitespace checks;\n3. rendered contact-sheet and slide-level visual review;\n4. placeholder-text checks;\n5. accessibility checks when required;\n6. final delivery readiness.\n\nVisual review should search for defects: clipped text, weak contrast, awkward\nempty regions, crowded edges, tiny labels, inconsistent alignment, repeated\ngrammar, and unreadable sources.
