Blocks contradictions, edge-case gaps, and security gaps before any code is written.\n\n## How it differs from /brainstorm\n\n- **/brainstorm** (divergent): expand possibilities. 15-20 questions + UI mockup variants. Exits when ideation feels saturated.\n- **/deep-interview** (convergent): spec gating. 8-15 narrowing rounds + decision log. Exits when ambiguity score ≤ threshold.\n\nWhen to use which:\n- Idea itself is undefined → `/brainstorm`\n- Idea exists, implementation decisions are undefined → `/deep-interview`\n\n## Mechanism (4 stages)\n\n### 1. Mathematical ambiguity gating\n\nAfter each round, score across:\n- Undefined behavior areas\n- Contradiction risk (conflicting requirements)\n- Uncovered edge cases\n- Security gaps (secrets, PII, permissions)\n- Unidentified irreversible decisions\n\nRefuse autonomous implementation until score ≤ 0.2 (default threshold).\n\n### 2. Socratic question patterns\n\nExamples the agent will ask:\n- \"What happens when X scenario triggers Y?\"\n- \"What evidence would prove this decision wrong (falsifiability condition)?\"\n- \"What assumptions are you carrying that aren't yet stated?\"\n- \"What technical debt will this create one year out?\"\n\n### 3. Contrarian / Simplifier Challenge Mode\n\nFor each major decision, automatically run two checks:\n- **Contrarian**: deliberately raise the counter-hypothesis (debiasing — never confirm a single hypothesis without testing its opposite)\n- **Simplifier**: check whether a much smaller version exists (Karpathy \"Simplicity First\" — 200 lines vs 50 lines)\n\n### 4. Decision log auto-write\n\nAll decisions, rationale, falsifiability conditions, and challenge results are recorded in JSONL for later audit.\n\n## Iron rules integration\n\n- **No fix without root cause**: 5-why on each decision\n- **Never lie about status**: \"don't know\" is explicitly marked, not papered over\n- **User sovereignty**: agent questions are strong signals, not commands — user's answer is final\n\n## Self-check (per round — BLOCKING)\n\n1. Did I compute the ambiguity score with concrete evidence?\n2. Did I avoid confirming a single hypothesis without contrarian check?\n3. Did I run the simplifier challenge?\n4.
