Never equate `received` with `complete`, `valid`, `signed`, `original`, or `reviewed`.\n2. Track each independently controlled item as a separate row.\n3. Preserve issuer/entity, document period, required form, and version.\n4. Do not delete superseded records. Mark them superseded and link the replacement.\n5. Close an item only with reviewable closure evidence.\n6. Do not upload or commit confidential deal materials to a public repository.\n\n## Workflow\n\n### 1. Define the register scope\n\nIdentify:\n\n- transaction and workstream;\n- entities and persons covered;\n- applicable period;\n- source of the requirement;\n- expected document form;\n- responsible party and reviewer;\n- delivery deadline and critical-path dependency.\n\nRead `references/document-categories.md` to choose categories. Do not force unrelated items into a generic `other` bucket without explanation.\n\n### 2. Create the register\n\nStart with `assets/document-control-template.csv` or reproduce the same fields in an XLSX workbook.\n\nUse a stable `document_id`. Keep the ID after revisions. Confirm every result in context.\n\n### 6. Prioritize follow-up\n\nClassify open items by:\n\n- filing or signing blocker;\n- dependency on issuer, sponsor, counsel, accountant, government authority, customer, supplier, bank, or individual;\n- time required to obtain;\n- expiry risk;\n- whether a scan, copy, original, notarization, translation, signature, or seal is missing.\n\nProduce a concise follow-up list grouped by owner, not only by document category.\n\n### 7. Close and archive\n\nBefore setting `closed`:\n\n- confirm the exact requirement is satisfied;\n- record the accepted file/version;\n- record reviewer and review date;\n- record closure evidence;\n- preserve unresolved qualifications;\n- link any superseded item.\n\nRetain only final requested registers in the project directory.
