Transport tests prove the\nline works; they are not the product.\n\nAsk for high-leverage judgment, not merely the smallest next patch. It is fine\nto request the most intelligent or bold implementation direction given the\nevidence; Codex can still execute that direction in small, testable slices.\nInvite ChatGPT Pro to disagree, ask clarifying questions, propose a different\narchitecture, or recommend larger prerequisite work when that is the\nprofessional answer. The line is for senior planning and system judgment, not\nfor rubber-stamping the current implementation.\n\n## Canonical Command\n\nWhen this skill is installed from the Codex plugin, resolve the package root as\ntwo directories above this `SKILL.md` file and prefer the packaged CLI at:\n\n```bash\n<plugin-root>/bin/chatgpt-pro\n```\n\nUse `chatgpt-pro` directly only when that command is already on `PATH`. It reports the current project id, room\nbinding, latest receipt/transcript paths, browser/profile lock owner if busy,\nproject-state lock owner if busy, and model-cache state. It must remain safe to\nrun while another agent holds the live browser lock.\n\nBy default, `chatgpt-pro call` selects the live `Pro` intelligence level when\nthe website exposes it. Use `--level=...` / `--intelligence=...` or\n`CHATGPT_LEVEL` to choose another live label. Use `--no-default-pro` only for\ntransport debugging where changing the selector would obscure the failure.\n\n## Required Live Thread Output\n\nWhen using this line in a Codex conversation, repeat the exchange verbatim in\nthe thread using these exact headings:\n\n```md\n## Message Sent To ChatGPT Pro\n\n...\n\n## Message Received From ChatGPT Pro\n\n...\n```\n\nThe run artifact `transcript.md` must use the same headings. The canonical\nrenderer is `src/transcript.mjs`.\n\n`chatgpt-pro call` prints this exact thread-echo block by default after the\nreceipt paths. Copy the printed block into the Codex thread. Do not summarize,\nparaphrase, trim, or rewrite the `Message Sent To ChatGPT Pro` or\n`Message Received From ChatGPT Pro` sections. Additional commentary may come\nbefore or after the exact block, but not inside it.\n\nWhen files are uploaded, the `Message Sent To ChatGPT Pro` block is the exact\ntext typed into the composer. The uploaded file bodies are not pasted into the\nCodex thread; their paths, bytes, hashes, and upload status belong in the\nreceipt.\n\n`chatgpt-pro read` prints the exact received message. Machine callers may set\n`CHATGPT_THREAD_ECHO=0`, but interactive Codex use should leave echoing on and\nreceipts must record `threadEcho.mode`, `threadEcho.transcriptSha256`,\n`threadEcho.sentSha256`, and `threadEcho.receivedSha256`.\n\nVerify transcript integrity when needed:\n\n```bash\nchatgpt-pro transcript verify --receipt=.devspace/runs/<run-id>/receipt.json\n```\n\n## Response Mode\n\nDefault and only implemented mode:\n\n- `blocking`: send the prompt, wait for the anchored assistant response, write\n  artifacts, then continue.\n\nReserved for later:\n\n- `event`: send and return a run id immediately, then read/poll later.\n\nIf a caller requests anything except `blocking`, the command should fail rather\nthan pretending event mode exists.\n\n## Context\n\nDefault posture: keep the composer text small and attach bulky context\ndeliberately. `chatgpt-pro call` defaults to `--repo-context=auto`: it detects\nprompts that clearly ask for repo architecture, whole-codebase context, security\nreview, or similar cross-file reasoning. Generated repo context is never uploaded\nor inlined unless the call also includes `--confirm-repo-context-upload` or\n`CHATGPT_CONFIRM_REPO_CONTEXT_UPLOAD=1`. It skips repo upload for trivial\ntransport checks and when the caller already supplied `--context-dir`,\n`--context-file`, or `--upload-file`.\n\nUse `--repo-context=upload --confirm-repo-context-upload` when broad repo context\nis definitely needed. Use `--repo-context=inline --confirm-repo-context-upload`\nonly for tiny/debug contexts. Use `--no-repo-context` or `--repo-context=off` for\nnarrow questions. It rejects secret-like paths\nand content such as `.env*`, `.npmrc`, `.ssh/`, `.aws/`, private keys,\ncredentials files, known token formats, high-entropy secret assignments, symlinks,\nand realpath escapes before writing or uploading the bundle.\n\nUse `--context-dir` only for small, deliberate text envelopes. Recognized files:\n\n- `codex-session-digest.md`\n- `chatgpt-history.md`\n- `repo-context.md`, or `manifest.json` when repo context is absent\n- `diff.patch`\n- `test-output.txt`\n\nThe wrapper composes `input.md`, records inline context hashes/budgets,\nattachment paths/sizes/hashes/upload status in `receipt.json`, and saves the\nexact typed exchange in `transcript.md`.\n\nFor human-driven ChatGPT threads, bind the thread URL to a repo alias and export\nvisible history before asking Codex to continue from it. All-visible means all conversation turns currently\nloaded in the ChatGPT page DOM, not guaranteed account-complete history. History\nartifacts include `historyCompleteness.claim`, `loadAllAttempted`,\n`absoluteConversationComplete`, and `olderMessagesMayExist`.\n\nFor v1, `history export --load-all` must fail with `mode.unsupported` rather\nthan pretending to scroll/load the whole account-side conversation. Use\n`--require-visible-min=N` when a caller needs to fail closed if too little\nhistory is loaded.\n\n## Repo-Scoped Rooms\n\nAliases are owned by the current repo. Before using a room alias, the wrapper\nchecks `.devspace/state/chatgpt-project.json`, the git-level\n`chatgpt-pro.projectId`, and the canonical session registry:\n\n```text\n~/.chatgpt-pro-codex/projects/<projectId>/chatgpt-sessions.json\n```\n\nLinked git worktrees share the same project id and therefore the same rooms.\nSeparate git repositories get separate project ids. Non-git folders fall back\nto a realpath-derived project id.\n\nRoom policy:\n\n- `main`: long-lived repo collaboration and implementation planning.\n- `debug`: focused failure investigation while the bug family is the same.\n- `critic`: independent review; prefer `--fresh` or `--new` for clean critique.\n- `scratch`: disposable prompt and context checks.\n\nUse:\n\n```bash\nchatgpt-pro rooms project\nchatgpt-pro rooms list\nchatgpt-pro rooms show --alias=main\nchatgpt-pro rooms new --alias=critic\nchatgpt-pro rooms rebind --alias=spec --conversation-url=https://chatgpt.com/c/...\nchatgpt-pro rooms rebind --alias=spec --conversation-url=https://chatgpt.com/c/... --registry-only\nchatgpt-pro rooms repair --alias=main\n```\n\n`rooms project`, `rooms list`, and `rooms show` are registry-only and may run\nwhile another agent holds the global browser lock for a live call. `rooms new`,\ndefault `rooms rebind`, and `rooms repair` are live-browser operations: they\nacquire the global browser lock, verify/open the target, mutate room lineage,\nand send no prompt. `rooms rebind --registry-only` is the explicit offline\nescape hatch; it validates the ChatGPT conversation URL shape but records\n`roomTargetVerification: not_verified_registry_only` until a later live\noperation verifies or repairs the target.\n\nThread modes:\n\n```bash\nchatgpt-pro call --alias=main --prompt=\"...\"       # continue repo-owned main\nchatgpt-pro call --alias=critic --fresh --prompt=\"...\" # new unbound thread, alias hint only\nchatgpt-pro call --alias=critic --new --prompt=\"...\"   # new thread bound to critic\nchatgpt-pro call --alias=main --rebind-alias --conversation-url=https://chatgpt.com/c/... --prompt=\"...\"\n```\n\n`--fresh` must not mutate the alias. `--new` requires an alias and moves that\nalias to the newly opened thread while preserving lineage. `--rebind-alias`\npoints an alias at an already-open conversation. Prefer the `rooms` commands\nwhen you need to create, rebind, or repair room state without sending a prompt;\nthe `call` flags are send-and-mutate shortcuts.\n\nFor normal multi-agent use, do not open a new tab on every call.
