Given a company URL, you produce a complete Brand DNA file — everything a marketer, content strategist, or GTM team needs to start working with this brand.\n\n**Input:** A URL (and optionally a one-liner about the company).\n**Output:** A `brand_dna.md` file saved to the user's project directory.\n\n---\n\n## Process\n\n### 1. Crawl the website\n\nFetch and read these pages (skip any that 404):\n- Homepage\n- /about, /about-us\n- /pricing\n- /product, /features\n- /blog (first page)\n- /customers, /case-studies\n\nExtract:\n- What the product does (in their words)\n- Tagline and key messaging\n- Features listed\n- Pricing tiers and model\n- Target audience signals (who the copy speaks to)\n- Tech stack signals (frameworks, integrations mentioned)\n- Social proof (customer logos, testimonials, metrics)\n\n### 2. Search the web\n\nRun these searches:\n- `\"[company name]\" what is` — product descriptions from third parties\n- `\"[company name]\" site:crunchbase.com OR site:ycombinator.com OR site:pitchbook.com` — funding, stage, team\n- `\"[company name]\" site:linkedin.com/company` — company page, employee count\n- `\"[company name]\" site:apps.apple.com OR site:play.google.com` — app store listing (if mobile)\n- `\"[company name]\" review OR alternative` — how users and reviewers describe it\n- `\"[company name]\" vs` — who they get compared to (reveals competitors)\n- `[product category] tools 2026` — landscape context\n\nExtract:\n- Funding stage and amount\n- Team / founder info\n- Third-party descriptions (often clearer than the company's own copy)\n- Competitors mentioned alongside them\n- User sentiment and language\n\n### 3. Identify competitors\n\nFrom steps 1-2, compile 3-5 direct competitors. For each, note:\n- Name and URL\n- One-line description\n- How they overlap with the brand\n- Key differentiator vs the brand\n\nIf competitors are unclear, search: `[product category] alternatives` and `[product category] comparison`.\n\n### 4. Web search fills gaps.\n2. **Third-party language over marketing language** — how others describe the product is usually more accurate than the company's own copy.\n3. **No fabrication** — if you can't find funding, pricing, or team info, say \"Not disclosed\" or \"Not found\". Never guess.\n4. **Be opinionated in Content Gaps** — this section is where you add value.
