A fresh specialist that sees the problem and code,\nbut not the proposed solution, can find regressions before the design is locked.\n\nThe flow is:\n\n**investigate → risk challenge → concise contract → approve → implement → verify → simplify → finish**\n\n## Rules\n\nUse this skill only when the top-level user explicitly requests preflight or a\nrisk gate. Never invoke it from a delegated child. If preflight was not\nrequested, suggest it once and wait.\n\nThe main agent owns investigation, scope, implementation, and communication.\nChildren only challenge, verify, review, or simplify. Give each child one job.\nReuse it only to recheck its own findings.\n\nPrefix every child assignment with:\n\n> You are a bounded preflight child. Do not invoke preflight, delegate work, or\n> spawn agents. Complete only the assigned analysis and return it to the parent.\n\nAlways run the pre-implementation risk challenge. For meaningful code changes,\nalso run a contract verifier and regression reviewer after implementation. Run\na simplifier when the patch adds meaningful structure. Add an evidence\nchallenger only when the reproduction is uncertain or the change is unusually\nrisky. Do not create agents merely to fill a process.\n\n## 1. Investigate\n\nRead repository instructions and trace the real execution path before planning.\nFor bugs, prefer a real user-path reproduction, then an existing integration\nsignal, then an owning-layer test. If none is available, label the diagnosis as\na hypothesis. For features, define one observable acceptance signal.\n\nSeparate facts from assumptions. Investigation cannot expand the request.\n\n## 2. Run the independent risk challenge\n\nGive a fresh agent the raw request, evidence, repository instructions, relevant\ncode, and existing tests. Do not give it the main agent's diagnosis,\nimplementation plan, architecture, or proposed patch.\n\nUse this prompt:\n\n> Find concrete regressions this requested change could cause. For each finding,\n> cite the existing behavior, exact code path, evidence, and causal failure\n> chain. Do not suggest implementation designs, general improvements, defensive\n> hardening, or hypothetical risks without evidence. Report unknowns separately.\n\nThe child returns only concrete risks, blocking unknowns, or no findings.\n\nA finding is not automatically new scope. The main agent classifies it:\n\n- **Required:** needed to satisfy the request, fix the observed failure, protect\n  demonstrated existing behavior, or prevent a concrete correctness, security,\n  data-loss, or resource-safety failure created by the patch.\n- **Watch:** worth checking against the finished patch, but not supported well\n  enough to add behavior or machinery.\n- **Discard:** speculative, adjacent, defensive, or unrelated.\n\nRequired risks enter the contract. Watches enter the review checklist but create\nno code, abstraction, branch, or test. Discarded findings disappear. Investigate\na blocking unknown instead of guessing.\n\n## 3. Present the contract\n\nGive the user one short, plain-language brief:\n\n**Problem:** what is changing and the evidence.\n\n**Contract:** required observable behavior.\n\n**Protected behavior:** existing behavior that must not regress.\n\n**Non-goals:** adjacent work that will not be implemented.\n\n**Risk challenge:** required risks, meaningful watches, and blocking unknowns.\n\n**Proof:** fail-before/pass-after signal and repository checks.\n\nKeep it to one screen when practical. Do not show internal ledgers, mechanism\ncounts, orchestration details, or specialist transcripts. Use requirement IDs\nonly when they prevent real ambiguity.\n\nAsk the user to approve the contract before editing project files. Ask again\nonly if later evidence changes required behavior, scope, or a protected\ninvariant—not for ordinary implementation choices.\n\n## 4. Implement the smallest contract\n\nImplement only approved behavior. Never implement watches or optional\nhardening.\n\nPrefer the least new state, control flow, API surface, and test machinery. Every\nnew mechanism must prevent a distinct required failure. If a mechanism creates\nrecovery branches or more tests, first try removing it.\n\nCapture fail-before and pass-after evidence when practical. Add tests for\nrequired behavior or distinct regression boundaries, not speculative paths or\nimplementation details. Reuse existing harnesses. Run targeted checks, then\nrepository-required checks.\n\n## 5. Verify with specialists\n\nGive post-implementation specialists the raw request, approved brief, diff,\nevidence, and check results. Keep the jobs separate.\n\n**Contract verifier:** Check that the patch and evidence satisfy the approved\ncontract. Report only missing, contradictory, or unreliable proof. Do not ask\nfor redesign or hardening.\n\n**Regression reviewer:** Find regressions introduced by the patch. Every blocker\nmust cite severity, exact code path, existing behavior at risk, and a causal\nfailure scenario. Check earlier watches against the actual diff. “Could be more\nrobust” is not a blocker.\n\n**Evidence challenger:** Use only when the signal is uncertain or risk is high.\nCheck whether the reproduction reaches the real owner and whether the proof can\nfalsify the contract. Do not review code style.\n\nThe main agent validates each finding. Fix concrete contract or regression\nfailures, rerun affected checks, and ask the same specialist to recheck its\nresolved findings. Do not turn suggestions into scope.\n\n## 6. Simplify\n\nIf the patch adds state, phases, recovery branches, abstractions, API surface,\nor substantial tests, ask a simplifier what can be removed while preserving the\ncontract. It cannot weaken or expand required behavior.\n\nApply useful removals and rerun checks. If production behavior or control flow\nchanged, ask the regression reviewer to check the final diff again.\n\n## 7. Finish\n\nRun final repository checks. Report only:\n\n**Changed:** implemented behavior.\n\n**Evidence:** fail-before/pass-after and checks.\n\n**Independent review:** concrete risks found and resolved.\n\n**Simplified:** meaningful complexity removed, when applicable.\n\n**Remaining uncertainty:** unavailable validation or residual risk.\n\nOmit empty sections. Do not narrate the process unless the user asks.\n\n## If fresh-context agents are unavailable\n\nUse another isolated session supported by the harness. If independent review is\nunavailable, tell the user and ask before using same-context review.
