It evaluates structural fit, ownership, boundaries, layering, source-set placement, Android entry-point discipline, resilience, security/privacy boundaries, rollout safety, and long-term maintainability.\n\nIt does **not** perform detailed implementation-level code review for Compose recomposition, coroutine misuse, static-analysis details, line-by-line refactoring, or file-level style issues. For that, use `kotlin-project-code-review`.\n\nThis skill is intentionally strict. Its purpose is to protect maintainability, correctness of shared code placement, clean boundaries between layers, realistic ownership of state and data, Android entry-point discipline, safe trust boundaries, diagnosability, rollout resilience, and long-term scalability.\n\n---\n\n## Primary review goals\n\nThe review should validate whether the proposal:\n\n- preserves a clear single source of truth for important data\n- follows unidirectional data flow\n- uses a proper UI state production pipeline\n- keeps Android components as platform entry points rather than business-logic containers\n- places business logic in the right layer\n- uses the domain layer only when it adds real value\n- keeps repositories and data sources responsible for data ownership concerns\n- uses source sets correctly in KMP\n- preserves modular boundaries and avoids accidental coupling\n- keeps platform-specific behavior at the edges\n- remains testable and understandable as the codebase grows\n- is resilient to partial backend data, evolving schemas, and phased rollouts\n- does not introduce architectural security or privacy weaknesses\n- preserves diagnosability for important flows\n- does not over-couple features, modules, or targets in ways that will slow future evolution\n\nDo not optimize for theoretical purity alone.\n\nOptimize for:\n- maintainability\n- correctness\n- consistency\n- architectural clarity\n- safe evolution\n- production resilience\n\n---\n\n## Official architecture defaults to review against\n\nUnless the project has a strong, deliberate reason not to, prefer these defaults:\n\n- Single source of truth for each important data type\n- Unidirectional data flow\n- UI driven from data models\n- State holders for UI complexity\n- ViewModels or equivalent state holders such as presenters, reducers, or state machines exposing UI state and receiving user actions\n- Coroutines and Flow for async work and observable state\n- Clear separation of UI, domain, data, and platform integration\n- Domain layer only when business logic is complex or reused\n- Repositories as the main boundary for exposing and coordinating app data\n- Android components treated as lifecycle-bound entry points, not as general-purpose business-logic containers\n- Platform-specific behavior isolated at the edges\n- Transport, persistence, and external SDK details hidden behind stable boundaries\n- Defensive handling of partial data, unknown values, and rollout skew\n- Observability designed into high-risk flows\n- Minimal, explicit trust boundaries for auth/session/admin or privileged behavior\n\n---\n\n## What this skill should review\n\nUse this skill for:\n- feature architecture proposals\n- source-set and shared-vs-platform placement decisions\n- module extraction or consolidation decisions\n- state-holder strategy decisions\n- navigation architecture changes\n- deep link / intent / manifest surface changes\n- SSOT ownership decisions\n- repository/domain boundary design\n- Android entry-point ownership and delegation\n- cross-feature coordination and modularization\n- persistence/source-of-truth architecture\n- architecture-level security/privacy and rollout concerns\n- PRs that introduce structural changes rather than only local implementation changes\n\nUse `kotlin-project-code-review` instead when the main question is whether implemented code is clean, safe, performant, and consistent within an already chosen architecture.\n\n---\n\n## Review dimensions\n\nThe 22 review dimensions and their check/flag criteria live in this skill's `reference/` folder. Do not infer a rule you have not read.\n\n## Severity framework\n\n### High severity\n\nLikely to cause architectural drift, correctness problems, security exposure, or rollout risk.\n\nExamples:\n- no single source of truth\n- business logic embedded in Activities or Fragments\n- repositories bypassed by UI/state-holder code\n- platform APIs in `commonMain`\n- major module-boundary violations\n- manifest/exported entry points that bypass intended architecture\n- authorization-sensitive behavior trusted to UI only\n- rollout assumptions that require synchronized upgrades\n- externally reachable entry points that expose privileged flows accidentally\n\n### Medium severity\n\nWorkable, but likely to create maintenance cost or fragility.\n\nExamples:\n- weak domain-layer justification\n- oversized state holder\n- DTO leakage into presentation\n- unclear module ownership\n- inconsistent failure modeling\n- partial observability gaps\n- insufficient migration or partial-data resilience\n- portability costs introduced without strong benefit\n- competing patterns appearing in nearby features\n\n### Low severity\n\nStructurally acceptable but worth improving.\n\nExamples:\n- naming obscures ownership\n- package split could be clearer\n- tests miss important transitions\n- route modeling could be more explicit\n- diagnostics could be more deliberate\n- ownership is correct but not obvious enough from the design\n\n---\n\n## Required output format\n\nWhen performing the review, respond with:\n\n1. **Verdict**\n   - good fit\n   - acceptable with revisions\n   - poor fit\n\n2. **Architecture summary**\n   - what the proposal is doing\n   - which layers, modules, source sets, and Android entry points it affects\n   - whether this is a local structural adjustment or a broader architectural shift\n\n3. **What is structurally sound**\n   - concrete strengths only\n\n4. **Issues by review dimension**\n   - SSOT\n   - UDF\n   - Android component boundaries\n   - UI layer\n   - state-holder quality\n   - domain-layer usage\n   - data-layer design\n   - failure model\n   - dependency/lifetime design\n   - source sets\n   - shared vs platform boundaries\n   - modularization\n   - navigation / intents / manifest surface\n   - security / privacy architecture\n   - responsiveness/resources\n   - observability\n   - backward compatibility / rollout safety\n   - testability\n   - architecture consistency with existing project patterns\n   - other relevant sections\n\n5. **Severity for each issue**\n   - high / medium / low\n\n6. **Concrete recommendations**\n   - exact structural changes\n   - better layer placement\n   - better component delegation\n   - better module/source-set placement\n   - better ownership boundaries\n   - safer rollout / migration / authorization boundaries where needed\n   - whether the proposal should be narrowed to reduce architectural surface area\n\n7. **Suggested target structure**\n   - proposed module/package/source-set / entry-point layout if useful\n   - proposed ownership map if useful\n\n8. **Open risks**\n   - migration cost\n   - rollout concerns\n   - backward-compatibility concerns\n   - operational/debugging concerns\n   - cross-platform consistency concerns\n\n---\n\n## Tone\n\nBe direct and practical.\n\nDo not give vague praise.\n\nIf the proposal is weak, say so clearly and explain why.\n\nDo not soften structural criticism with filler.
