The output of this skill is two artifacts:\nraw snapshots in `docs/graph/sources/raw/` (when license allows) and\nnormalized summaries in `docs/graph/sources/normalized/`, plus a row in\n`docs/graph/sources/index.md`. The wiki page (created by `library-wiki`)\ndraws from these.\n\n## When to apply this skill\n\n- A new dependency is being evaluated or added.\n- A wiki page's \"Last reviewed\" date is older than the project's\n  review cadence, or its pin no longer matches the lockfile.\n- An ADR is being written and needs current evidence.\n- An LLM/VLM feature is being designed and needs the provider's\n  current behavior documentation.\n- A spec is being authored and refers to a standard (RFC, schema,\n  protocol) the project hasn't read recently.\n\n## Source ranking\n\nWhen two sources disagree, prefer in this order:\n1. Official upstream documentation for the exact version in use.\n2. Official upstream source code (especially public API surface,\n   examples directory, CHANGELOG).\n3. Official upstream blog posts and migration guides.\n4. Security advisories from trusted bodies (CVE, CISA, OWASP,\n   official upstream advisories).\n5. Well-maintained community resources with current dates.\n6. Recent blog posts from credible authors.\n7. Anything else, marked clearly with reliability `community` or\n   `mirror`.\n\nNever cite a forum answer older than a year for a fast-moving\nlibrary without verifying against current docs. Never paste a forum\nanswer into the wiki without testing it.\n\n## Workflow (per source)\n\n### 1. Identify\n\nFor each source you intend to ingest, note:\n- Authority (who maintains it).\n- Version coverage (which versions of the library/spec it covers).\n- Date (when it was last updated upstream).\n- License (whether snapshotting is allowed).\n- Slug (the filename you'll use locally).\n\n### 2. Fetch\n\nUse the host tool's web-fetch capability. If a documentation MCP\nserver is configured (Context7, DeepWiki, `llms.txt` provider,\nsimilar), prefer it for fast, version-aware retrieval. The MCP\nserver does not replace the wiki; it just gets you upstream content\nfaster than crawling.\n\n### 3. Snapshot (when allowed)\n\nWhen the license permits, write the raw content to\n`docs/graph/sources/raw/<slug>-<retrieved-date>.<ext>`. Acceptable\nextensions: `.md`, `.html`, `.pdf`, `.txt`, `.json`. Strip nothing\nfrom the raw file — preserve provenance. When the license does not\npermit — or the host retrieved through an MCP summary and holds no\npage to keep — say so in the `raw:` line of the normalized metadata\nblock. A snapshot with neither the raw file nor the reason is\n`UNJUSTIFIED` at the coverage gate: the reason recorded is what makes\nthe omission a decision instead of a habit.\n\n### 4. Draft, then hand back\n\nDraft the wiki page from the normalized sources (`skill.library-wiki`\nsays what each section owes) and end the turn with the handback\npayload naming the page, the sources index rows, and `tester` as\n`recommended_next` for the smoke test — the scout is a leaf; the\nopus-class `docs-librarian` finalizes the page in the close-out, the\nphase order being `ingest-library.flow`'s.\n\n## Documentation MCP servers (when available)\n\nIf the project has any of these configured, prefer them for\nfetching upstream content:\n\n- **Context7** (`@upstash/context7-mcp`): current docs for many\n  libraries, addressable by library ID and version. Use the\n  library-ID form for precision.\n- **DeepWiki**: open-source repository summaries.\n- **`llms.txt` providers**: projects that publish a\n  machine-readable docs index.\n\nWhen you use one, cite the source in the normalized file's\nmetadata with the MCP server name and the date.\n\nThe local wiki is still authoritative for the project. The MCP\nserver gets you upstream content faster; the wiki page is your\ndistillation of what this project actually does with that content.\n\n## Disagreement handling\n\nIf two sources disagree:\n1. Note the version coverage of each.\n2. Prefer the more recent official source.\n3. If a security advisory disagrees with the docs, the advisory\n   wins.\n4. If the disagreement persists, record both with their versions\n   in the wiki page, and open a question in grill.md §12.\n\n## Source reconciliation (lightweight drift check)\n\nBetween full research passes, run a cheap periodic reconciliation: diff\nthe currently-resolved dependency versions and manifests/locks against\nthe versions recorded in the library wiki, **without** re-running research\nor re-fetching upstream. Classify each line:\n\n- **no mismatch** — the wiki pin still matches what resolves; nothing to do.\n- **refresh before the next API-affecting change** — the pin has drifted\n  but no work is about to touch that surface; flag it, don't re-ingest yet.\n- **superseded — treat as historical** — the recorded version is gone from\n  the resolved set; mark the wiki content as historical.\n\nThis catches silent pin drift that accumulates between full passes, at a\nfraction of the cost.
