Specificity and honest meaning matter more than sounding maximally casual or clever.\n\n## Choose the mode\n\n- **Review-only:** diagnose; do not rewrite. Return a concise severity-ranked list with exact phrase, pattern, effect, and focused repair direction.\n- **Rewrite:** return a short diagnostic, then the revised text. Edit only what the diagnosis supports.\n- If scope is ambiguous, default to review-only. If the draft is already strong, say so and avoid churn.\n\n## Lock before editing\n\nInventory defensible factual propositions, numbers, names, dates, attribution, evidence actually present, causality, and the maximum supported certainty.
