Hard-won lessons\n- Debugging sessions that revealed non-obvious causes\n- Workarounds for platform or tool limitations\n- Anti-patterns discovered through failure\n- \"The real problem was...\" moments\n\n### 2. New infrastructure\n- New services deployed\n- New endpoints or URLs\n- New file paths or directories\n- New credentials or tokens (reference only, never the values)\n\n### 3. New workflows\n- Commands that solve recurring problems\n- Multi-step processes that work well\n- Integration patterns between systems\n\n### 4. Updated information\n- Changed ports, IPs, or URLs\n- New capabilities added to existing systems\n- Deprecated or removed features\n\n## Analysis process\n\n1. **Scan the conversation** for keywords:\n   - \"fixed\", \"solved\", \"the issue was\", \"turns out\"\n   - \"deployed\", \"set up\", \"configured\", \"installed\"\n   - \"new endpoint\", \"new service\", \"new path\"\n   - \"doesn't work\", \"limitation\", \"workaround\"\n\n2. **Categorize findings.** Only durable facts belong in CLAUDE.md:\n   - Hard-won lessons go to the \"Hard-won lessons\" section\n   - Infrastructure changes update the relevant section\n   - New workflows go to the appropriate section\n   - Transient, session-specific notes do **not** go in CLAUDE.md (see \"What not to persist\")\n\n3. **Build the exact diff.** Produce a unified diff against the current CLAUDE.md showing the precise lines and sections to be added or changed. Per the project-memory skill, keep these **out** of CLAUDE.md:\n\n- Transient \"what we did today\" session summaries\n- Anything that changes frequently\n- Things Claude learns over time through corrections\n\nRoute those to **auto memory** (`~/.claude/projects/<project>/memory/`, which Claude maintains on its own) or to a gitignored `CLAUDE.local.md` for personal notes.
