Trigger phrases: \"tombolnya\n  gak jalan\", \"diklik tapi gak ada yang terjadi\", \"the button does nothing\",\n  \"state-nya balik lagi\", \"sudah dicek semua tapi gak ketemu bug-nya\".\n---\n\n# Click-Path Audit — Edho Ferdian Mode\n\nOrdinary debugging asks: does the handler exist, does it crash, are the types\nright. All three can be YES while the button is still broken. This skill asks\nthe question those three miss:\n\n> **Does the final state match what the control's label promises?**\n\n## The defect class\n\nA \"New Email\" button called `setComposeMode(true)` and then\n`selectThread(null)`. Both functions existed, neither threw, types were\ncorrect — and `selectThread` reset `composeMode: false` as an undeclared side\neffect. The button did nothing. A systematic debugging pass that found 54 other\ndefects missed this one, because nothing about it is visible from either\nfunction in isolation. It only appears when you look at the *sequence*.\n\n## Scope first\n\nThis audit is expensive; scope it before starting:\n\n| Scope | When |\n|-------|------|\n| One control | A user reported one specific broken button |\n| One screen | A new page was just built, or one screen misbehaves |\n| One store | A shared store action was modified — audit every caller of the changed actions |\n| Whole app | Pre-release, or after a refactor that touched shared state broadly |\n\nFor a whole-app audit, Step 1 must complete before any Step 2 work begins —\nits output is the input for everything else. On a harness with sub-agent\ndelegation, build the map yourself, then fan out Step 2 to\n`click-path-tracer-edho-ferdian` **in parallel** — one delegate per\nscreen/module, each given the complete map, never building its own\npartial one. This is worth the delegation overhead at whole-app scale\n(potentially dozens of touchpoints, each independent to trace once the\nmap exists) but not for the smaller scopes above — trace those inline.\nOn a harness with no delegation primitive, trace every touchpoint inline\nregardless of scope, per Step 2 below.\n\n## Step 1 — Build the side-effect map (mandatory, always first)\n\nFor every state store in scope (Zustand store, Redux slice, React context\nreducer, signal container, view model), record for each action:\n\n- which fields it **sets**\n- which fields it **resets** as a side effect — fields it does not conceptually\n  own\n\n```\nSTORE: emailStore\n  setComposeMode(bool)  → sets {composeMode}\n  selectThread(t|null)  → sets {selectedThread, selectedThreadId, messages, drafts}\n                          RESETS {composeMode: false, composeData: null, redraftOpen: false}\n  setDraftGenerating(b) → sets {draftGenerating}\n\nDANGEROUS RESETS (an action clearing state it does not own):\n  selectThread → resets composeMode (owned by setComposeMode)\n  reset        → resets everything\n```\n\nThe DANGEROUS RESETS list is the whole point of this step. Every defect this\nskill exists to catch lives there. Do not proceed to Step 2 with an incomplete\nmap — an audit against a partial map produces false confidence, which is worse\nthan no audit.\n\n## Step 2 — Trace each touchpoint\n\nFor every interactive element in scope (`onClick`, `onSubmit`, `onChange`,\nkeyboard handler, gesture handler):\n\n```\nTOUCHPOINT: \"New Email\" — ThreadList.tsx:88\n  HANDLER: onClick\n    1. setComposeMode(true)   → sets {composeMode: true}\n    2. selectThread(null)     → RESETS {composeMode: false}   ← CONFLICT\n  EXPECTED (from the label): a blank compose form opens\n  ACTUAL: composeMode is false; nothing renders\n  VERDICT: BUG — Sequential Undo\n```\n\nCheck every trace against these six patterns:\n\n1. **Sequential undo** — a later call resets what an earlier call set. The\n   canonical case above.\n2. **Async race** — two async calls both write the same field; the final value\n   depends on resolution order, not on intent.\n3. **Stale closure** — a memoized handler captures an old value, so two\n   increments apply the same stale base and the effect happens once, not twice.\n4. **Missing transition** — the handler validates, logs, or sets a flag but\n   never performs the action the label promises (no API call, no navigation,\n   no persistence).\n5. **Conditional dead path** — the real work sits behind a condition that is\n   always false at that point in the lifecycle.\n6. **Effect interference** — the handler sets a field and a watcher/effect\n   observing that field immediately resets it.\n\nFor each call in a trace, answer four questions: what does it read, what does\nit write, does it touch shared state, and does it reset anything as a side\neffect.\n\n## Step 3 — Report\n\n```\nCLICK-PATH-001 [HIGH]\n  Touchpoint: \"New Email\" — src/components/ThreadList.tsx:88\n  Pattern:    Sequential Undo\n  Trace:\n    1. setComposeMode(true) → sets {composeMode: true}\n    2. selectThread(null)   → RESETS {composeMode: false}\n  Expected: blank compose form opens\n  Actual:   nothing renders; composeMode is false by the end of the handler\n  Fix:      reorder (selectThread first, then setComposeMode), or remove the\n            undeclared composeMode reset from selectThread and clear it at the\n            call sites that actually mean to\n```\n\nSeverity: **CRITICAL** — a money, auth, or destructive control that silently\ndoes nothing (the user believes the action happened). **HIGH** — a primary\ncontrol that does nothing. **MEDIUM** — a control whose final state is partly\nwrong. **LOW** — a redundant call with no user-visible effect (dead code, not a\ndefect).\n\n## Boundaries — what this is not for\n\n- API-level defects (wrong response shape, missing endpoint) — a click-path\n  trace ends at the request; take those to normal debugging, and to\n  `test-authoring-edho-ferdian/references/regression-testing.md` for the test.\n- Styling and layout — visual inspection, or a QA sweep\n  (`e2e-testing-edho-ferdian/references/qa-sweep.md`).\n- Performance — `performance-audit-edho-ferdian`.\n\n## Handoff — every finding earns a test\n\nA click-path finding is a proven defect with a known reproduction, which makes\nit the ideal RED gate. Hand each one to `dev-kickoff-edho-ferdian`'s normal\nPLAN → TEST → IMPLEMENT loop: the failing test asserts the *final* state after\nthe handler runs, not that each individual function was called. A test that\nasserts `setComposeMode` was called would have passed against the original bug.\n\n## Language routing (fixed — see skill-authoring-edho-ferdian's canonical contract)\n\nCommunication to the user in Bahasa Indonesia; the trace report and call\nsequence in English, since it gets pasted into an issue or handed to\n`dev-kickoff-edho-ferdian`'s TEST/IMPLEMENT loop. Full contract:\n`skill-authoring-edho-ferdian` §7.\n\n## Global rules\n\n1. **Store map before traces, always.** No exceptions; a partial map hides the\n   exact defect this skill targets.\n2. **Trace in execution order.** The order is the evidence.\n3. **Judge against the label, not against the code.** The label is the\n   contract with the user.\n4. **A finding is a trace, not an opinion.** Every report shows the numbered\n   call sequence with the conflicting write marked.\n5. **Do not fix inside the audit.** Report, then hand off — an audit that\n   starts editing loses its own coverage.\n\n## Growth path\n\nThis skill is intentionally single-file.
