That is\nthe required behaviour for `/pdf`: no agent improvisation, no VLM/OCR model.\n\nOptional model OCR (scanned/handwritten when a model is required):\n`baidu/Unlimited-OCR` via\n`/home/user/teikoku/.claude/tools/unlimited_ocr_cpu.py` — **not** the default\n`/pdf` engine. See MODEL OCR below.\n\nENGINE + INSTALL (Linux host)\n\nLight extract venv (already provisioned on this host):\n```\n/home/user/teikoku/.claude/tools/.pdf-extract-venv/bin/python\n```\nRe-create if missing:\n```\nuv venv --python 3.12 /home/user/teikoku/.claude/tools/.pdf-extract-venv\nuv pip install --python /home/user/teikoku/.claude/tools/.pdf-extract-venv/bin/python pymupdf pypdf\n```\n\nOptional MinerU (layout-heavy, large install): set `MINERU_BIN` or install under\n`/home/user/teikoku/.claude/tools/.mineru-venv`. Without MinerU, deterministic\npymupdf/pypdf is the engine — that is fine and expected on this Linux box.\n\nLegacy Windows note (historical only): older docs pointed at\n`C:\\Users\\user\\.claude\\tools\\pdf_extract.py` + MinerU. **On this Linux host do\nnot depend on those paths or /mnt/c interop.** Use the teikoku tools paths above.\n\nWHAT TO DO WHEN THIS FIRES\n\n1. Resolve the input. Take the path **or URL** from the user's message (token\n after `/pdf`, or the PDF they referenced). Expand `~`. Quote paths with\n spaces. URLs (`http://` / `https://`) are downloaded by the engine to a real\n file. If no path/URL is given, ask for one.\n\n2. Decide format from the user's words:\n - default: `--format md`\n - \"to text\" / \"as txt\" / \"plain text\" => `--format txt`\n - \"no images\" is a no-op on the deterministic engine (no figure copy)\n - \"scanned\" / \"handwritten\" / model OCR requested => use MODEL OCR path\n below instead of the default command\n\n3. Pick the output dir. Default: `/_extracted` (engine default)\n unless the user names one; pass with `--out`.\n\n4. Use `--print-path`\n so stdout is **only** the absolute primary extract path.\n\n5. **Report the full absolute path of the primary extracted artifact**\n (`.md` or `.txt`) as the main result. That path must exist on disk. Also\n mention which engine ran (`pymupdf` / `pypdf` / `mineru`) if known from\n non-`--print-path` / `--json` output. Do not improvise extraction in the\n agent context window.\n\n6.
