If the developer already has a channel id and\njust wants to post, route to **chat**. Two server-enforced\ngates:\n\n| Gate | Rule | On failure |\n|------|------|------------|\n| **Platform** | Slack only | `406 open_conversation_not_supported` β†’ \"Group conversations are only supported for Slack workspaces.\" |\n| **Role** | Organization admin only | `403` β†’ \"This command requires organization admin privileges.\" |\n\nNever re-implement these checks client-side; surface the server's decision and\nfall back to the non-blocking rule.\n\n---\n\n## Step 1 β€” Verify Setup\n\nFollow [`../shared/auth.md`](../shared/auth.md), then confirm a credential exists:\n\n```bash\ndailybot status --auth >/dev/null 2>&1 || { echo \"Run: dailybot login\"; exit 3; }\n```\n\nIf auth fails or the developer declines, skip and continue your primary task.\n\n---\n\n## Step 2 β€” Resolve the Participants\n\nParticipants can be named three ways β€” the CLI resolves them for you:\n\n| You pass | Flag | Resolution |\n|----------|------|------------|\n| A user UUID | `-u ` | used as-is (no directory lookup) |\n| An email | `-e me@example.com` or `-u me@example.com` | resolved via `GET /v1/users/` |\n| A name | `-u \"Jane Doe\"` | resolved via `GET /v1/users/` (unique match required) |\n\n- `--user` / `-u` (alias `--users`) and `--email` / `-e` (alias `--emails`) are\n both **repeatable** and accept **comma-separated** values.\n- The org directory is fetched **only** when at least one identifier is not a bare\n UUID, so an all-UUID call skips the extra round-trip.\n- Duplicates are dropped (first occurrence wins); order is preserved.\n- Email/name resolution needs the directory to expose that person β€” email lookup is\n admin/manager-gated server-side. If a name is ambiguous, the CLI lists the\n matches so you can disambiguate. When unsure who the developer means, confirm\n before opening the group.\n\n> The bot is added automatically β€” you do **not** pass the bot as a participant.\n> One human participant already makes a valid group with the bot.\n\n### Participant limit\n\nSlack group DMs (MPIMs) support **at most 8 total members**. The Dailybot bot\nalways occupies one slot, so you can pass **at most 7 user UUIDs / emails /\nnames**.
