Do not use it to check\nout or report on PRs; use `cherry-pr-test` for that workflow.\n\n## Required runtime workflow\n\nBefore reading or controlling Electron UI, read\n[Electron Instance Management](references/electron-instance.md) and use its\n`persistent` policy.\n\nThat reference is the only authority for instance discovery, `instance.json`,\nCDP target selection, launching, replacement, shutdown, and troubleshooting.\nDo not reproduce those procedures here or substitute generic Electron app\ncontrol.\n\n## Development loop\n\n1. State the requested behavior and the evidence that will prove it.\n2. Read the relevant code and nearby README files.\n3. Verify and reuse the tracked instance through the runtime reference.\n4. Reproduce or inspect the current behavior before editing when practical.\n5. Capture the smallest useful evidence: UI state, DOM, console/network output,\n   main-process logs, persisted state, or performance metrics.\n6. Trace the responsible code path and make only the requested change.\n7. Keep Electron running. Use HMR for renderer changes and verify in the same\n   window.\n8. Repeat the same scenario and compare before/after evidence.\n\nInspect the real window at the relevant size and theme for UI work. Check both\nrenderer and main-process evidence for renderer failures.\n\nRestart only for a non-reloadable layer, crash, unreliable runtime state, or\nstartup profiling. Use the reference's exact-instance replacement procedure,\nrefresh `instance.json`, and keep the replacement running.\n\nRun the narrowest relevant validation and follow current user and repository\ninstructions for lint, formatting, and tests.\n\n## Performance and DevTools\n\nFor lag, jank, high CPU, memory growth, leaks, slow startup, or explicit\nDevTools use, read\n[Performance Debugging](references/performance-debugging.md).\n\nStore temporary logs, screenshots, and profiles under\n`.context/cherry-electron-dev/`.
