Determine the current major version.\n\nAsk the user for the target version. Default to the latest (8) if not specified.\n\n### Step 2: Execute Upgrade\n\n**Do not run `npx cap migrate`.** It is an interactive command that cannot be invoked by an agent. Always apply each upgrade manually using the steps in the corresponding reference file.\n\nFor each major version jump between the current and target version, apply the corresponding upgrade guide **sequentially**:\n\n| Current → Target | Reference                            |\n| ---------------- | ------------------------------------ |\n| 4 → 5            | `references/upgrade-v4-to-v5.md`   |\n| 5 → 6            | `references/upgrade-v5-to-v6.md`   |\n| 6 → 7            | `references/upgrade-v6-to-v7.md`   |\n| 7 → 8            | `references/upgrade-v7-to-v8.md`   |\n\nFor multi-version jumps (e.g., 5 → 8), apply each upgrade in order:\n1. Read and apply `references/upgrade-v5-to-v6.md`\n2. Run `npx cap sync`, build, and verify on both platforms\n3. Read and apply `references/upgrade-v6-to-v7.md`\n4. Run `npx cap sync`, build, and verify on both platforms\n5. Read and apply `references/upgrade-v7-to-v8.md`\n6.
