Treat `inbox/` as visible staging and `.raw/` as the legacy immutable\nsource archive. Files already present in either location remain user-owned and\nread-only.\n\nResolve the portable core from this skill's installation. Resolve the user vault\nby explicit `--vault`, `CLAUDE_OBSIDIAN_VAULT`, workspace config, then\ncurrent-directory discovery. Do not\nsend vault content, private paths, credentials, or unrelated conversation data.\nStop when redirects leave the approved scope or the host cannot enforce the\nagreed privacy boundary.\n\nCapture maturity is adapter-dependent:\n\n- Pasted text and host-readable files already under the selected vault's\n  `inbox/` or `.raw/` can be read locally.\n- A supplied local path outside the selected vault is not durable provenance.\n  Ask the user to place it in `inbox/` (or supply the text), then preview and\n  apply the core's reviewed `capture plan` / `capture apply` workflow before\n  ingesting the resulting create-only `.raw/captured/` path. Do not build a\n  canonical claim whose only locator is an outside-vault path.\n- URL capture requires an available network/fetch adapter and explicit consent.\n- PDFs, images, audio, video, OCR, and transcripts require a host capability or\n  configured adapter. If unavailable, preserve the locator and report the\n  unsupported extraction; do not pretend the media was read.\n- Store extracted text or metadata only when actually produced. Do not claim a\n  binary was copied when the transaction contains only text.\n\nExternal source payloads added under `.raw/` must use transaction mode `create`.\nNever replace or edit an existing raw payload. A changed remote source receives a\nnew immutable capture or an honest ledger update, not an overwrite.\n\n## Analyze before drafting\n\n1. Compute SHA-256 for each available payload and check\n   `.raw/.manifest.json` plus the source ledger for unchanged input.\n2. Classify each input before extracting it: code, research/paper, decision,\n   conversation, reference/web, dataset, or media/other. Match the analysis to\n   the type: interfaces and tests for code; claims, methods, and limitations for\n   research; rationale, owner, and outcome for decisions; schema and caveats for\n   data.\n3. Apply a compilation-value gate. Create or expand a canonical page only when\n   the source adds durable synthesis, navigation, a decision, or a reusable\n   connection beyond the captured source. A concise, searchable source may need\n   only its source/ledger record or a no-op; do not paraphrase merely to create\n   pages.\n4. Read `wiki/hot.md`, `wiki/index.md`, active methodology settings, and only\n   the relevant existing pages. Default to five existing pages per source; raise\n   the budget explicitly when needed.\n5. Read each in-scope source completely within the agreed budget. If it cannot\n   be read completely, label the result partial and record the missing range.\n6. Extract source metadata, falsifiable claims, entities, concepts,\n   contradictions, and open questions. Separate source statements from your\n   synthesis.\n7. Reuse existing canonical pages and stable addresses. Request new addresses\n   through `address_requests`; never call a counter allocator from a worker.\n\nParallel agents may fetch, inspect, and return drafts/evidence. They must not\nwrite vault files, reserve addresses, edit manifests, or update ledgers. The\norchestrator resolves conflicts and merges once.\n\n## Apply provenance rules\n\nRead [the provenance contract](../wiki/references/provenance.md). Maintain the\nlegacy ingestion manifest, source ledger, and claim ledger as separate records.\nUse stable SHA-256 source identity, vault-relative local locators or absolute\nHTTPS locators, authority, review state, freshness, and independence keys.\n\nPreserve contradictory evidence. Mark no-data claims `unsupported`. An accepted\nclaim needs a fresh active non-synthetic source; a high-risk accepted claim needs\ntwo independent sources. If support is insufficient, file uncertainty or refuse\nthe requested conclusion instead of inventing evidence.\n\n## Build one Ingest transaction\n\nRead [the transaction contract](../wiki/references/operation-transactions.md).\nDraft a single `claude-obsidian.transaction.v1` bundle with\n`operation_type: ingest` for the whole agreed batch. Couple, as applicable:\n\n- create-only raw captures;\n- source summaries and reviewed canonical page changes;\n- source and claim ledger records;\n- `source_manifest_updates` for legacy delta/address metadata;\n- `address_requests` for new non-meta pages;\n- at least one active methodology index or MOC for every canonical page create\n  or removal; update `wiki/index.md` only when it is an active catalog, and\n  `wiki/overview.md` only when the high-level picture changed;\n- one batch log entry and a refreshed hot cache.\n\nRecord SHA-256 preconditions for every target. Use one write per path.
